Tasting Notes
Rich and complex, offering a captivating array of dark fruit aromas. Dark cherry, blackcurrant, and blackberry create a bold, fruity foundation, while hints of sawdusty oak add a touch of complexity.
Subtle notes of black olive lend an earthy, savory depth to the profile, and a trace of liquorice introduces a slightly sweet, spicy element, rounding out the wine’s aromatic character.
Winemaking
Following the dry 2019 season, 2020 brought another year of extreme heat and low rainfall, leading to limited soil moisture and poor fruit set during flowering, resulting in a 40% reduction in yields across our vineyards. However, a much-needed 50mm of rain in February, combined with mild conditions, helped preserve natural acidity and provided a welcome boost leading into harvest. Despite the challenges, fruit quality was exceptional, with red varieties displaying deep color, rich concentration, and ripe tannins, while whites exhibit outstanding purity, vibrant flavors, and excellent balance.
